How Much Does a Subterranean Car Lift Cost? Get Your Answer Here

News 12/14/2024

Alright, let’s yak about them fancy car lifts that go down into the ground, you know, the ones they call “subterranean car lifts.” Folks with too much money, I reckon. Now, how much do these things cost? Well, that’s a whole can of worms, ain’t it?

I heard tell some of them lifts, not the ones from that “Cardok” place, mind you, they cost a pretty penny. Someone was jabbering about sixty-one thousand dollars all the way up to seventy-two thousand! Can you believe that? That’s enough to buy a whole house where I come from, and maybe a tractor too!

Then there’s this “PhantomPark” lift. Sounds like somethin’ out of a movie, doesn’t it? They say it’s the only one made in America that’s safe, whatever that means. These things let you park two cars where you’d normally only park one. Sounds like a good idea if you’re short on space, I guess.

  • But how much does it cost? Well, that’s the million-dollar question, ain’t it? It ain’t cheap, that’s for sure. They say the price changes a lot, depends on what kind of lift you get, how hard it is to put in, where you live, and if you want any fancy extras.
  • Someone on the internet, you know, one of them computer-talking folks, was saying they were wondering if they should get one of them PhantomPark lifts cause they needed more garage space but couldn’t build an addition. They were worried about the cost, though. Said it seemed like a lot of money, forty or fifty thousand dollars, just for a lift. They said you can get a regular garage lift for less than six thousand! That’s what I’m talkin’ about!

Now, I ain’t no expert, but I heard tell of other lifts, scissor lifts they call ’em. These ain’t the kind that go down in the ground, but they lift your car up high. A small one, that lifts your car up about nineteen feet, costs eight to twelve thousand dollars. But if you want a real tall one, like twenty-six feet, that’ll set you back fifteen thousand dollars, maybe even more. I even heard tell of some costing as much as forty-five thousand dollars! Land sakes!

Someone was sayin’ that these lifts ain’t really necessary. They just save you a little bit of time jackin’ up the car. But if you’re doing it all day long, I guess it saves your back some. But for most folks, it’s just a waste of money, if you ask me.

One thing you gotta remember, if you’re gonna put in one of them underground lifts, you need a good strong concrete floor. Gotta be at least four inches thick, they say, but six is better. Otherwise, that car might just end up in a hole, and that wouldn’t be good.

So, if you’re thinkin’ about getting one of them fancy subterranean car lifts, you better have a fat wallet. It ain’t just the cost of the lift itself, you gotta think about puttin’ it in and makin’ sure your garage floor can handle it. It’s a lot of money, that’s for sure. Me? I’ll stick to parkin’ my car on the good ol’ ground. It’s cheaper and it gets the job done.

Anyway, that’s what I’ve heard tell about these here car lifts. Seems like a lot of fuss and money for somethin’ that just lifts your car up and down. But I guess some folks got more money than sense.
