High Performance 10AP Two Post Car Lift Review

News 12/02/2024

Well now, let’s talk about them two post car lifts, ya know, the things those city folks use to lift their cars up in the air. I seen ’em on the TV once, and my grandson, he showed me some pictures on that phone thingy of his. They look mighty fancy, but I reckon they ain’t too hard to understand once ya get the hang of it.

First off, them lifts, they ain’t all the same. Some can hold up a whole bunch of weight, like, I heard tell, 8,000 pounds or even more! Them bigger ones, they gotta be built stronger, with thicker metal and all. Makes sense, I guess. You wouldn’t want your car falling down on ya, would ya? That’d be a mess, wouldn’t it?

Now, these two post lifts, they got these arms that reach out and grab the car, kinda like a big metal hug. But ya gotta be careful where ya put them arms. My grandson says there’s special spots on the car, liftin’ points they call ’em, and if ya don’t get it right, well, things could go wrong. Sounds tricky to me. I’d probably just stick to changing my own tires on the ground, thank ya very much.

  • Lifting Capacity: Gotta make sure it can hold your car’s weight. Some hold more than others.
  • Arm Type: Some arms are straight, some are curved. Gotta pick the right ones for your car.
  • Thickness: The thicker the metal, the stronger the lift. That’s just common sense, ain’t it?

My grandson, he was tellin’ me about how these two post lifts are real popular with them mechanics. They use ’em to fix cars, ya know, brakes and stuff. Says it makes it easier to get underneath and see what’s wrong. I reckon it does. Crawlin’ around on the ground ain’t no fun, I can tell ya that much. My old bones ain’t what they used to be.

There’s other kinds of lifts too, ya know. Four post lifts, they call ’em. My grandson says them ones are easier to use, but they take up more space. You just drive the car right on, no fussin’ with them arms. But like I said, I ain’t got no fancy garage, so it don’t much matter to me.

If you’re thinkin’ ’bout gettin’ one of these here two post lifts, ya gotta do your homework. Read up on ’em, talk to folks who know about ’em. Don’t just go buyin’ the first one ya see. And for goodness sake, make sure ya know how to use it before ya go liftin’ your car up in the air. Safety first, that’s what I always say.

I seen some fancy ones on that phone thingy, real high-tech they call it. Direct-drive liftin’, they said. Sounds complicated to me. I reckon the simpler the better, especially for an old gal like me. But them young folks, they like all them bells and whistles, don’t they?

And the price! Lord have mercy, them things ain’t cheap. My grandson showed me some prices, and my jaw near dropped to the floor. Thousands of dollars! I could buy a whole new car for that much money. Well, maybe not a new one, but a good used one for sure. But I guess if you’re a mechanic, and ya use it every day, it might be worth it.

So, there ya have it. My two cents on them two post car lifts. They seem like handy things for them that need ’em, but they ain’t for me. I’ll stick to my old jack and a couple of cinder blocks, thank ya very much. It’s worked for me all these years, and I ain’t about to change now. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it, that’s my motto. And them two post lifts, well, they just seem like a whole lotta fixin’ waiting to happen.
