Well, let me tell ya somethin’ about these car lift thingies in Dubai, you know, the ones they call “car lift services”. I ain’t no fancy city gal, but I know a thing or two about gettin’ around.

Now, these young folks, they always lookin’ for the easy way, right? They don’t wanna wait for the bus or nothin’. So, they got these car lifts. Sounds fancy, but it’s just someone with a car givin’ you a ride, for a price, mind you. It ain’t like hitchhiking back in my day, no sir! We just stuck out our thumb and hoped for the best. These days, it’s all about apps and payments and whatnot.

I heard some folks sayin’ these car lifts ain’t exactly legal. Yeah, you heard that right. The government, they don’t like it when folks start makin’ money without their say-so. They call it “unregistered taxis” or some such nonsense. And if you get caught, oh boy, you in big trouble. They’ll slap you with a fine, a big one, and maybe even throw you in jail! Can you imagine, jail for just givin’ someone a ride? Sounds crazy to me, but that’s what they say.

But then again, there’s a lot of these car lift companies poppin’ up all over Dubai. They got names like “Haice Pick and Drop” or “FirstChoiceCarlifts” – soundin’ all high and mighty. They promise you a ride anywhere in Dubai, anytime you want. Students usin’ ’em, office workers usin’ ’em, everybody wantin’ a piece of the pie.

• And they say it’s cheaper than takin’ a regular taxi.

Maybe it is, maybe it ain’t. I ain’t never tried it myself. I like my own two feet, or maybe a bus if I’m feelin’ lazy.

Now, these car lift fellas, they got all sorts of cars, big ones, small ones, some lookin’ fancy, some lookin’ like they about to fall apart. They say they pick you up anywhere and drop you off anywhere. Sounds convenient, I gotta give ’em that. And some even got these “monthly subscription” things. You pay a fee and you get unlimited rides, or somethin’ like that. Sounds like a good deal, I guess, if you use it a lot.

But remember what I said about the fines? Yeah, that’s the scary part. If you get caught usin’ an illegal car lift, they might take your car away! They call it “impoundment,” or some such fancy word. They keep your car and you gotta pay a big fine to get it back. And black points too, whatever those are. Sounds like bad news to me.

So, what’s a body to do? Well, I reckon you gotta be careful. Make sure the car lift company is legit, you know, registered and all that. Don’t just jump in any ol’ car with any ol’ stranger. And if you see the police, well, maybe you better pretend you don’t know the driver. Just kidding… kinda.

Look, I ain’t sayin’ car lifts are good or bad. I’m just sayin’ you gotta be smart about it. Dubai’s a big city, lots of rules, lots of ways to get into trouble. So, keep your wits about ya, and don’t do nothin’ stupid. That’s my advice, for what it’s worth.

And about that price thing, they say it’s affordable, but affordable for who? These city folks with their fancy jobs, maybe. But for an old lady like me, well, I’d rather save my money for somethin’ important, like a good cup of tea and maybe a biscuit or two. You gotta prioritize, you know? Can’t be spendin’ all your money on fancy rides.

They also talk about “reliable” and “efficient” car lift services. Well, I hope they are, for the money people are payin’. Nobody wants to be late for work or school, right? And nobody wants to be stuck on the side of the road with a broken-down car. So, I guess that’s what you payin’ for, the peace of mind, and gettin’ where you need to go without any fuss.

And one last thing, these car lift companies, they call themselves your “trusted partner for smart commuting”. Smart commuting, huh? Sounds like somethin’ them city slickers would say. But I guess it makes sense. You want someone you can trust to get you where you need to go, safely and on time. Just make sure you do your research, read the reviews, and don’t get yourself into any trouble with the law.

That’s all I gotta say about these car lifts in Dubai. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go make myself a cup of tea. My feet are tired just thinkin’ about all that ridin’ around.
