2 Pole Car Lift: Top Choices for Your Garage in 2024

News 12/11/2024

Well now, let me tell you somethin’ about them 2 pole car lifts. You know, the things them city folks use to fix their cars. I seen one on the TV once, looked mighty complicated, but I reckon it ain’t so bad once you get the hang of it.

First off, you gotta have enough room. Them fellas on the TV said you need a tall garage, like real tall. They was talkin’ ’bout 12 feet or somethin’. That’s taller than my old barn, I tell ya! And it gotta be wide too, and long. Like, a big ol’ empty space, so you don’t go knockin’ things over when you’re raisin’ that car up.

  • Tall ceiling – gotta have it, or you’ll be smackin’ the roof.
  • Wide space – don’t wanna be bumpin’ into walls.
  • Long space – so the car fits, see?

Now, about them poles. They gotta be strong, real strong. Them TV fellas said somethin’ ’bout thick metal. Like, thicker than my old stovepipe, that’s for sure. They was throwin’ around numbers, 4 inches, 6 inches. Sounds big to me. The thicker the better, I guess. Don’t want no car fallin’ on your head, that wouldn’t be good for nobody.

And the way they lift that car up? It’s some kinda magic, I swear. They got these arms that swing out and grab the car. Then, whirrrrr, up it goes. Makes fixin’ things underneath a whole lot easier, I reckon. No more crawlin’ around on the dirt like I used to do with my old pickup truck. Them young folks got it easy these days.

There’s different kinds, too. Some got a bar that goes across the top, some don’t. Them top bars, they need more room, but they’re probably stronger, I figure. If you ain’t got much room, you get the kind without the bar. It sits on the floor, they say. Seems safer to me, havin’ it close to the ground.

And get this, they can lift all kinds of cars. Little ones, big ones, even trucks. But you gotta make sure the lift is strong enough. They got different sizes, for different weights. You don’t wanna go liftin’ a big ol’ truck with a lift made for a tiny car, that’s just common sense.

Now, I ain’t never used one of these things myself. I’m too old for that kind of fancy stuff. But if I was a young fella fixin’ cars for a livin’, I’d sure want one. Saves your back, saves your time, and makes you look like a real professional. And that’s important in any kind of work you do.

But you gotta be careful, too. Them TV fellas said you gotta read the instructions, and make sure you know what you’re doin’. And keep it clean, they said. Oil it up now and then. Don’t want it breakin’ down on ya, not when you got a car hangin’ in the air.

So, that’s the long and short of it. 2 pole car lifts. Big, strong things that lift cars up high. Need a lot of space, gotta be careful, but they sure make workin’ on cars a whole lot easier. If you got the money and the space, and you’re fixin’ cars all the time, might be worth lookin’ into.

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I got to go feed my chickens. That’s something I do understand, them lifts… well that’s another story.
